Valhalla, the mythic afterlife of the Viking warriors, where one could fight to the death only to be reborn, celebrate their battles, and start anew the next day. This was their version of heaven! So I guess that Valhalla 10 at the Dulles Sportsplex on 3/28/09 was heaven on earth for the MMA Institute fighters who fought six grueling battles worthy of Odin’s applause . . .

The Grappler’s Guild thanks MMA Institute’s students for placing 3rd as a team at the NAGA Grappling Tournament in King William, VA on February 28, 2009. Despite competitors numbering close to 1,000, MMA Institute students managed to take 31 top spots, including 16 1st place positions.

On February 14, MMA Institute represented in full force, ending with an astonishing record of 8 – 1 for the night! Our 1 loss was by decision. Remarkably, Chad Brown agreed to fight during the weigh-ins because a fighter failed to show up, even though he was helping to promote the event. Be sure to congratulate Zac Stikeleather, Drew Loy, Austen Blakey, Cody Carter, Shea Kelly, Jake McLean, Drey Santiago, and Billy Shannon on their impressive victories!
